Once the sketches feel right, I bring them into the digital realm, gradually adding layers until the essence of each piece reveals itself. This step is intuitive—an interplay between vision and feeling until the design feels complete.

From there, I transform these digital creations into pendants. Investing in a laser cutter was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my brand—it allowed me to move beyond hand-drilling each piece, making the process more precise and efficient.

I use wood scraps or unfinished wood pieces as the base. For this collection, I made 48 pendants, making each one unique and one-of-a-kind.

The butterfly wings are sourced from sanctuaries around the world, ensuring each butterfly lived and passed naturally. This step is one of reverence—I carefully remove the wings, fully aware of their fragility and beauty.

Once separated, I laminate the wings, sealing their delicate patterns for protection.

Once the wood pieces are laser-cut, I sand and prepare them for painting.

Each wood form is paired with its corresponding butterfly wing and print that is cut to size by hand, bringing all the elements together for the next stage.

Applying resin is a transformative step, one that required deep learning and experimentation. I coat each pendant with thick layers of resin, ensuring an even coverage that brings out the details of each design. Finding the right resin was important to avoid yellowing and to work with the cold weather conditions I faced. Each piece receives attention until it feels ready, either complete in its natural state or prepared for polishing.

For some pendants, I polish them with multiple grits, refining them until they shine like glass. Polishing was an experience of patience and discovery, using a small ceramic throw machine as a DIY polishing tool and learning how to enhance each pendant’s natural beauty.

I spend weeks carefully sourcing and selecting a combination of natural gemstones, freshwater pearls, and glass beads.
I cleanse my beads with incense, such as lavender, to release any lingering negative energy.
